The Story Behind The Mad Batter

Hi, my name is Aimee. I’m the baker behind The Mad Batter Crafty Confections, a home bakery based in beautiful Parry Sound. Baking has always been something I’ve loved. There’s something magical about turning simple ingredients into something that brings people together and creates a moment of happiness.

The Mad Batter began during a challenging time in my life. After the birth of my child, I found myself navigating postpartum depression and looking for something that could bring a little light and creativity back into my days. Baking became that outlet. Spending time in the kitchen experimenting with recipes, decorating cakes, and creating sweet treats gave me a sense of calm and joy when I needed it most.

The name “The Mad Batter” is a little nod to Alice in Wonderland, a story I’ve always felt a deep connection to. Like Alice stepping into a whimsical world where things don’t always follow the usual rules, baking allowed me to embrace creativity, imagination, and a little bit of wonderful chaos in the kitchen.

What started as baking for family and friends slowly grew into a passion for creating custom cakes and handcrafted confections for others to enjoy. Today, every cake, cookie, and dessert is made from scratch in small batches with care, creativity, and quality ingredients. Whether it’s a birthday, wedding, celebration, or just a sweet treat for an ordinary day, I love working with customers to bring their ideas to life.
